The Simple Woman's Daybook ~August 4

FOR TODAY~ August 4, 2008...

Outside my window...the Florida sunshine is cookin'.

I am thinking...that my husband is the most handsome man in the world. :)

I am thankful for...a Bible-believing, Bible-preaching church. I was greatly encouraged after being in the Lord's house yesterday. What a wonderful way to start a new week!

From the kitchen...a plethora of over-ripe bananas is waiting to be turned into banana bread.

I am wearing...a summer dress with lots of tiny red, white, and blue flowers on it.

I am creating...lists. Whenever my brain starts to get a little fuzzy I find that writing things down on paper helps me tremendously.

I am reading...several books, including Allison's Journey by Wanda Brunstetter.

I am hoping...that the rain clouds hold off until this evening. The kids really need to spend some time outside today and burn off all that energy that I wish I had.

I am hearing...the chatter of children.

Around the house...there is laundry to be done, toilets need to be cleaned, and the main rooms need vacuuming.

One of my favorite things...reading to my children.

A few plans for the rest of the week...doctor appointments, storytime at the library, housekeeping, and school preparations.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

My parents always had two hibiscus plants in their front yard when we lived in FL. I always loved seeing those bright, red flowers!

I know what you mean about the kids burning off the energy you wish you had! If you can bottle some of it, send a bottle my way! ;)

Beautiful flower!
Banana bread sounds yummy right about now...
Well, our little venture to "the beach house" won't give us much time to actually be on the beach. We do plan to kayak but we are really attending a family reunion there for my hubby's side of family.
We are the only Christians besides one other couple so sometimes it is difficult.
BUt....at least we will be there for a whole day and a half!
Thanks for stopping by my blog this a.m.!

Yumm....I haven't made banana bread lately. Being away from home like we were for almost two weeks got me out of my baking and cooking habit.
