FOR TODAY~ August 11, 2008...
Outside my window...the sun is shining, and the tree leaves are barely moving in the slight breeze.
I am thinking...there is a lot to do this week.
I am thankful for...the sacrifices made by U.S. military families.
Ashleigh's husband just returned home safe and sound, but many soldiers don't. I think it's very important to let these folks know that we appreciate them.
From the kitchen...I need to try a new recipe. Any ideas? :)
I am wearing...a denim skirt, bright orange blouse, and brown sandals.
I am creating...a new cross stitch sampler.
I am reading...in my Bible: Hebrews; just for fun: a couple of books on caring for the home.
I am hoping...that an anticipated package arrives in the mail today.
I am hearing...uplifting gospel music on
our church's radio station.
Around the house...just a bit of post-weekend tidying. Thankfully I've been staying caught up with the weekly chores. As always, laundry awaits.
One of my favorite things...soft sheets.
A few plans for the rest of the week...unpack another box or two, list some books for sale, visit the chiropractor, visit with friends, go to storytime at the the library, take a trip to a local theme park, and just enjoy life with the kids the last few days before school starts back.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
This is a view of our backyard. We had to leave the Koi pond behind in Georgia, but this pretty pond has some big fish, gigantic turtles, and even a Florida gator. Don't worry, we've given the kids a long lecture about heading down to the water without a grownup. :)
I hope you all have a wonderful week! If you would like to read more Daybook entries head over to The Simple Woman.
