Friday's Fave Five ~ 1.3.14

One of my goals for 2014 is to be a better blogger, and I'm going to try my best to link up weekly with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and share some of my favorite moments. It's also a great opportunity for me to count my many blessings. You're invited to join us! You can find out all the details here.

1. A silly sighting. While walking through the grocery store one day, I spotted Mr. and Mrs. Claus. They apparently decided that they wanted to spend the rest of the winter in Florida instead of back at the North Pole. Santa looks worn out from making all those Christmas deliveries, doesn't he?
2. Some good friends of ours that live in Georgia were here visiting their family for the holidays, and we were able to get together with them one night. Curly Girl (on the right) had fun catching up with her buddy, Miss M.
3. We took a day trip to visit my dad, enjoyed driving through rural Florida, and stopped by a few antique stores on the way back home. Although there was heavy post-holiday traffic on the Interstate, we didn't come across any accidents or major backups. I'm thankful for safety on the road.

4. We rang in the new year at our church's watch night service. Each year on New Year's Eve we have a special time of food, fellowship, and testimonies. And, for once, we can honestly say that the church service lasted until midnight.

5. I think the best part of the week was just relaxing at home. The kids have been out of school for the last two weeks, and it's been so nice to have a break from the busyness of their normal routine. They have been able to sleep in every day, and I haven't felt like I'm running a taxi service. I love my kiddos! Here's a recent picture of them.

A watch night service sounds delightful especially with testimonies. It encourages me to keep-on-keeping on when I hear such stories from others.

Your Santa sighting made me smile.

Lovely photo of your kiddos. The ladder to the tree house is awesome. I bet a lot of time has been sent up there.

Have a happy weekend.

The Clauses shopping is sch a cure picture! Maybe the had to stock up for the flight back to the North Pole. :-) Or maybe they do vacation in FL after their busy season.

It's so good to catch up with friends - glad you had a chance to that and visit your dad, with some fun stops along the way.

Relaxing at home has been one of my faves this week, too, and it was so needed after the fun but busy Christmas week.

1. I LOVE their spirit! What fun for y'all to see.
2. Always fun to catch up with life long friends. They look very happy, too!
3. So good to see family during the holidays, too. Thankful you travelled safely, and even got to stop in antique stores-(one of my FAVORITE things to do).
4. Our church used to have these and I miss it so much. Maybe one for the suggestion box.
5. Your family is just precious, Paula. I know how proud you are of these kiddos! Relaxing is my goal this weekend. Hope you have a great one, too!

Relaxing at home is always a fave :-) But Santa and Mrs. Claus seem to think a warmer clime might be better to recoup in. Cute pic! Here's to wishing you a bloggier 2014!

Their grandpa built the treehouse a few years ago, and the kids have really enjoyed it.

Your kids are all so cute! I'm sure it was great to have those days with them at home.
Funny photo of Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Considering the cold weather most of the country is experiencing, I'm not surprised the Clauses in vacationing in Florida :)
