Friday's Fave Five ~ 7.26.13

It's been a few weeks since I've linked up with my favorites. I had hoped to spend the last few days getting settled back in at home after our trip, but instead I ended up with a packed schedule, including a funeral service and a last-minute overnight trip. Here are five of my faves from this week:

1. It was so good to attend our home church on Sunday morning. On Sunday evening, I went with Steven to a church in the Orlando area where he was preaching both services for another pastor while he was on vacation. The church folks there were very welcoming, and the girls made some new friends.

2. Steven was invited to preach the mid-week service at a church in South Florida, and I was thrilled to be able to go with him and enjoy some much-needed time together while our moms took care of the kids. The pastor there took such good care of us, and we were blessed to be able to stay in an apartment on the church property. The church folks have done a beautiful job fixing it up, and we were able to relax much better there than we would have at a hotel.

3. On our drive back home, we took a detour to Sarasota for breakfast at Yoder's Restaurant. It's one of our favorite places to eat. I ordered the stuffed peach French toast. Oh. My. Goodness!! It was the best French toast I've ever had. Not low calorie, for sure, but I enjoyed every single bite.

4. I came across this lovely scripture art in someone's home, but the owner didn't know where it had been purchased. It's the first time I've ever found all of Psalm 119 displayed in the KJV. I looked on the back of the frame to see if I could figure out where it was purchased, but there were no markings. I am going to keep searching online. Maybe I can find something similar.

5. A few of our church folks had surgery or sudden trips to the hospital this week, and all of them are doing well right now. I have been blessed to be on the receiving end of prayer so many times in my life, and I am thankful for the privilege we have to pray for one another.

Amen...it IS a privilege to pray for one another! a real blessing for sure. I LOVE that scripture art. Wow....I've seen portions of Psalm 119 as art but never the whole thing! Yay for a nice time with your hubby ministering. Sounds like you are getting back in the swing of things after your long vacation away. Enjoy the weekend!

ooh that french toast sure does look good!!

You were in South Florida?? That's my territory!! I wish I had known and I could have met a fellow FFFer for coffee. Sounds like you had a great week.

I like your last statement about it being a privilege to pray for one another. When my son was recovering from a terrible accident, a friend shared that her constant prayer for us was bringing her closer to the Lord.

Have a great week ahead!

So glad you and your hubby could have time together and enjoy sweet accommodations. Getting settled at home after time away is always a challenge. Life seems to pick up and move into high gear after vacation time.

Glad to hear your church people are doing well after their trips to the hospital. I'm sure they really appreciate the support you show them!

That is a lovely display of Psalm 119. I've never seen that the whole verse printed out either.

Hurray for the little getaway.
Love that print of Ps 119. I have never seen it all on a poster, either, since it's so long. I hope you're able to find it.

What a beautiful way to display Psalm 119 -- I hope you do locate it.

I've never had stuffed french toast, but that peach one looks amazing! Isn't it lovely to indulge in food now and again?

So good that you were able to have time spent with your husband this week.

The stuffed peach French toast looks so good! Glad you had a wonderful time alone with your husband! I really like that Psalm 119 in frame, too.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a blessed week in the Lord!

That's the first one I've seen in KJV also. Now to find one! Glad you had a get-away with your husband. We all need that from time to time. And your French toast looked delicious. ;) It is a privilege to pray for others, and it seems that my list is getting longer these days.

I've never seen the entire Psalm 119 displayed at all, so that one is fantastic! I hope you can find where it was made and get one for yourself.
