Third time's a charm...hopefully

Mother's Day/Get Well flowers
Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start. I spent today in much the same way that I've spent each day for the past week--resting quietly at home. I had surgery a week ago to remove recurring abdominal adhesions. After being in pain for several weeks, I'm relieved to have all this behind me now. This is the third, and hopefully last, abdominal surgery I've had. That's the tricky thing about abdominal adhesions; you don't know that they are causing problems until you have a major issue. God has been so good through all this! I have truly felt the prayers lifted up on my behalf, and this has been a very smooth recovery. I've been taking things s-l-o-w-l-y and plan to get back in the office for an hour or two each day later this week. The kids have been staying with their grandmas so that I could take it easy. Yesterday my mom brought the little girls over and fixed me lunch for Mother's Day. We had a nice little visit before they went back to my mom's house to go swimming. I've missed having the kids here at home, but it has been such a blessing to have others willing to care for them. After spending so long lying around, it's time to get moving again and get rid of this stiffness. Today I took a walk down the street a little ways. I'm going to take another walk when it cools off this evening. Even this early in May the temperature is already close to 90 degrees each day. I had checked out a huge stack of books from the library to read while lying around, but I'm just halfway through my second one. It was too challenging to make my mind focus on anything for a few days, but now the book I'm reading has captured my attention. Two of the kids are back at home now, so I'm off to pop a tray of lasagna made by one of the gracious ladies in our church into the oven for supper. It's been so nice to not have to any cooking or cleaning. :) Enjoy your week!

So sorry to hear that you've had to undergo surgery again. I hope you're on the mend well now, and your strength will return quickly, too.
I'm having a little procedure done in 3 weeks that will keep me off of my feet for about 4-6 weeks. I'm stocking up on magazines and knitting for my "down time".
Prayers lifted up for you today....
Blessings,
Karen

I've had a c-section, so I can honestly say I know how rough recovery can be with that type of surgery -- I'm sorry you've had to have it 3 different times, though! I'm glad to hear you're on the mend and that your family is taking good care of you! :)
