Looking back

May 14, 2007
From time to time I like to look back through photo albums to remember what has happened in our family's history on a particular date. This picture was taken exactly three years ago today. We were living in Georgia at the time, Mickey was visiting his grandparents in Florida, and Pastor Steven and I took the girls to Stone Mountain for the day. We had so much fun with our giggly girls. They all looked hilarious with their 4-D glasses on. Lil' Nut was still just a tiny thing. As my babies continue to grow and face new stages, it's good for me to reflect on how quickly the pages of the calendar turn. Three years have passed in the blink of an eye! Instead of dwelling on the many mistakes I've made as a parent, I want to savor each day God gives me with my children, make new memories with them, and point them to the One who loves them even more than I do.

Time does fly and children seem to grow up so fast. At times, I look at my grown daughter but see her as a little girl I use to hold in my lap and snuggle close. I still call her my baby and she still loves hugs, yet I have had to learn to let go and that is so hard. She just grins at me when I give her instructions and then I have to grin back and say, "Sorry, once a mom, always a mom." :)
Enjoy every minute you have with them.

So precious! I, too, can't believe how fast time has seemed to go since I became a mother. :)

Time sure does fly. I want to savor every single moment. I cannot believe the little girl I drove to horse riding lessons each week is now driving her self (with me in passenger seat) to shop for the perfect prom shoes.....no more mucky boots for her....and instead of helping me bake cookies, my youngest one is now baking independently with little aid from mama.....oh how I treasure each step.....
love your pictures....

so true! i have to remind my 7yr son, that the past is in the past. we need to let it go and focus on the here and now.

it is pretty incredible to think that God loves our children more than we do. doesn't seem possible, but it is.
