Random Blessings

I'm tired tonight--so very tired--and ready for the weekend. Many random thoughts are flitting through my head. I think I'll just share a few blessings from my week. ~~We spent the evening fellowshipping with a couple of families from church. I cannot imagine how lonely life would be without my extended church family! ~~Almost all of the kids' school supplies have been purchased. Do you have any idea how much it costs to fill a bookbag these days? I came across some good deals, though, including notebook paper for a penny a package. ~~My faith was increased this week. There were a couple of needs that seemed would not be met, yet God revealed His perfect will and solved each problem in a way that exceeded all my expectations. He reminded me once again that He is in control. Nothing takes Him by surprise. ~~This week I've been thinking more about how fragile life is. One of my good friends has a child with chronic health problems, and I often wonder how she keeps her chin up with such a heavy load. Her child is in God's hands just like my children are in His hands. This week the 38 year old daughter of a preacher-friend of my husband went home to heaven. After a lifetime of health complications, she is now at rest with Jesus. My heart goes out to this woman's mother who has been her constant companion and caregiver since she was a child. My kiddos are all very healthy, but too often I take their good health for granted. I need to remember to thank the Lord for this blessing daily. ~~God continues to supply all our needs. There are times when I allow worry to creep in, but the Lord perfectly proves Himself all-sufficient. I'm glad He loves me in spite of my childishness and doubt.
Psalm 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

It is so easy to take our children's good health for granted. this week we just found out that one of claire's little 5th grade classmates lost his mother to a horrific car accident. I was reminded of just how fragile life truly is....and yet...by the grace of God I continue to enjoy good health and my family has good health......thanks for the reminders to thank Him DAILY!

He is faithful....and good....and oh so merciful.....

love, Faith

That verse at the end of your post is just precious. How often we forget to praise the Lord for his blessings on our life.

What an encouraging post! We're experiencing BIG changes in our lives--we're moving after 18 years, leaving a newly married son behind, starting new careers.

When God told us to go, we went. I couldn't have made that change without God. Trust and Faith that God supplies all our needs for this new journey more than just sustains--it fills me with joyful hope!

Thanks for writing such an encouraging post. It lifted me up!

Those are such wonderful things you shared. I think we all get out of touch with where we are and what we've been given from time to time. It is so good to be reminded about how good God is, no matter what, and how blessed we are. Thanks for helping me to remember too.

I hope you all have a wonderful start to your new year. I know it will be a busy house as everyone gets in gear. Some changes are in store and will take some adjustment. I'll add you to my growing list of prayer needs :)
