Since I've been a naughty, absent blogger this week, I thought I'd catch you up on what's been happening around here.

"Color Day"
"Backwards Day"
"Red, White, & Blue Day"
Buddy had his first visit to a new groomer. I asked the groomer to cut his hair short; she sure followed my directions! This poor dog doesn't even look like a Schnauzer now without his mustache and bushy eyebrows.
In the midst of a busy week of homecoming activities and various appoinments, I came down with a cold. I ran a fever for a couple of days, and now I'm fighting a cough. I've had this basketful of "friends" close by to keep me company and help me on the road to recover. Oh, you didn't know that chocolate is part of the protocol?:)
Yesterday I finally started to feel a little bit better but still didn't have a whole lot of energy. My only completed chore--clipping coupons.
When the housekeeper takes a few days off, the chores pile up quickly. Today I tackled some necessary tasks around our home. The tubs and showers got a good scrubbing.
A mountain of school uniforms were washed and folded. In fact, I got four loads of laundry done today...yipee!
As I finished folding the last load of laundry, this Bible verse on the back of a P.E. shirt caught my eye. What a simple reminder that God certainly gives us the strength we need to face the challenges that arise each day.

Lord-willing tomorrow I will feel well enough to travel with a group of ladies from our church to attend a ladies' retreat. It's been almost five years since I spent two whole days away from my family; I'm not sure I'll know how to handle it! I am praying that each of the ladies attending the conference will come away refreshed and encouraged. The Lord knew well in advance what He had planned for me this week, and I am confident that He has something special in store for me at this meeting. :) I'll be back Monday with my Daybook entry and details on a special giveaway. Take care! :)

Have a wonderful time at your ladies retreat. Glad you are feeling better, and it is good to see the children doing well with their school activities.

P.S. Keep me in your prayers on Thursday as I speak to the Ladies at Spectacular :)! I only want to be a blessing and encouragement to them.

What fun around your place!

I bet you were at the same conference as our ladies. My pastor's wife is Dina Naill from Faith Baptist of Wesley Chapel. Do you know her by chance? I bet you all were at the very same conference!!!
