Weekend Review

Our family had a nice weekend together. The children spent most of Saturday playing and putting on a Christmas program for Daddy and me. They made their own costumes, and Bookworm wrote their script and read the Bible verses. Lil' Nut started out as the angel but decided that she didn't want a speaking part, so she switched outfits with Curly Girl and played Mary instead. Mickey didn't want to participate, so he sat with us and watched the girls. I think the whole baby doll thing ruined it for him. :)
On Sunday our church choir performed a selection of Christmas songs focusing on our Saviour, and several of the children sang carols and recited poems and Bible verses. Mickey and Curly Girl were shepherds, and Bookworm and Lil' Nut were angels. I was a little bit worried that Lil' Nut would act like a nut during her part of the program, but she truly was a little angel. Since I was up singing in the choir, I didn't get to take any pictures, but the kids did a fabulous job.

Mr. C preached a great salvation message after the choir's presentation, and a young woman walked the aisle and trusted Christ as her Saviour. We have been praying for this lady and her fiance for several months. I had the priviledge of sharing scriptures with her and leading her to the Lord. It just made my day!

Sunday afternoon I took a much needed nap and spent a few minutes outside with the dogs. After several days of warm weather, I was so surprised to find this lovely camilla blooming on one of the garden bushes.

Unfortunately, I don't think this pretty little flower will last very long. This morning Dewey's water bowl was filled with a big ice cube, and tonight's low is forecast to be 23 degrees.

We're expecting company tomorrow. I love having company, but between homeschooling and tidying up the house, I'm worn out tonight. I think I'll curl up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy looking at the lights on the Christmas tree.

ETA: Well, it looks like somebody already claimed my spot!

I do hope you were able to get in that bit of down time before your company arrives tomorrow.

Sounds like you had a blessed Sunday indeed!

And I laughed when I saw the picture of your dog on the couch--reminds me of our dog, who has suddenly taken to getting up on the *new slipcovered* couch (and eating popcorn off the Christmas tree). He thinks it's his new dog bed, but I think not! : )

Your services sound just like our church..with the choir singing and the childrens program. :-)

Am I right in thinking Dewey owns the house?

The pictures of the kiddos look just so cute....
Sunday was our Christmas activities at our church...and I was HOME..still sick with the BUG...and not happy...as I missed my beloved husband singing in the Cantata...BUT I do not believe in passing germs on..especially when it was so obvious with a hacking cough...listend to a sermon on line...but sure missed the fellowship and festivities...
ahhhh......That DEWEY......he is right at home....and I venture to say..owns your sofa....now....
Praising the Lord for the salvation of the lady at your church..the best GIFT ever...it keeps giving...and giving...FOREVER......

WOW...what a blessed, glorious weekend you had! I think the pics of your children are just adorable. Reminded me of when my oldest was a 2 year old, she popped a dish towel over her head, wrapped her doll in a baby blanket and stuck it in the wicker laundry basket for a manger. I said Courtney what are you doing? she said playing Mary and Baby Jesus Momma! Those were the days...
Praise the Lord about the woman who accepted Him as her Saviour! that is a wonderful thing to be a part of!
If I don't get a chance to come back....have a very Merry Christmas!
Oh: I love the flower! We have 9 inches of snow on the ground and this a.m. temp was 14! But that is life in the capital region of NYS!

How fun that the girls were able to put on a play for you -- and from the best Book, to boot!

Dewey blends in just perfectly... as if the seat were made for him, lol! It looks as if he left you some snuggle room, though. :)

Praise the Lord for the new name written down in Glory! What a blessing!
I loved the photos of your girls! How precious! And I had to chuckle at the culprit that took your spot. ;o)
Thank you for the card. I was delighted to hear from you and see your sweet family. ;o)

Have a blessed Christmas!
