I'm Back!

Can you believe that December is already here? The last couple of weeks have just flown by for me. I've enjoyed my blogging break, but I'm ready to make the rounds and catch up with all of you. :)

We enjoyed spending Thanksgiving with loved ones in Florida. The only downside to our trip was the horrible traffic on the way home. It took us 10 hours to make what is usually a 7 hour drive. I actually enjoyed the long ride home. It was just me and my hubby in the car--we left all of our darling children in Florida!!! We couldn't deny the grandparents some extra time with the kiddos.

I have been so spoiled by Mr. C the last few days. He has taken me out to eat several times. He treated me to a steak dinner at a very upscale restaurant that we would never go to with four little munchkins. :) He even rented a few of my favorite chick-flick DVDs for me to enjoy without interruption. What a guy!

Although I love my children dearly and am missing them very much, I have so enjoyed having some quality time with my husband. I am sometimes guilty of having my attention focused on so many different things at one time that I neglect to focus on cultivating my relationship with my hubby. With our busy home and schedules, planning quality time for just the two of us is challenging, but it is so very important!

Today I have some light housekeeping tasks to tend to. I've been able to go several days without doing any laundry since the kids have been gone, but today I want to put fresh sheets on their beds and freshen up their rooms a bit. I have started putting up our Christmas decorations, but we haven't yet tackled the tree. My goal is to have it up before the kids get home.

***If you've read this far, I want you to take a big guess what you think the picture at the top of this post means. I'm not giving any hints, except to say that it's not a self-portrait.

Have a wonderful week!

Welcome back!! You've been missed.

Hmmm....the picture signifies that you are dog-tired after putting up all the decorations?

Sounds like you have had a great time with your husband! I agree, with life and children it is hard to find time to devote to just each other. I only have one kid, but she still takes up a lot of time!

Welcome back! You were missed, but we all need to do this once in a while. ;0)
I'm so glad you and hubby have some great time together. I've been feeling a bit like I need a break from homeschooling and all the responsibilities, and just be with my sweetie. This time of year gets crazy around here, and I'm working on putting things in perspective this week, and pushing through some tough things going on here right now. A break would be a good thing right about now. ;0)
I'm going to guess that you're getting a puppy for Christmas???
I hope you and hubby have a wonderful, restful week there, and hope that you'll post pictures of your decorations soon!

Welcome home! I'm guessing that you are getting a new doggie for Christmas, and I'm hoping it's a bulldog - they're so cute!

Welcome home Mrs. C!! First of all your new look is so pretty and festive! Secondly, I remember those days when I was so busy with my children and it seemed like there was never any "alone" time for me and MR. P. During the summer the children would go and spend a week with my parents and it was so nice to be able to spend quality time and "reconnect" with Mr. P! We would have so much fun going out on "dates" and just having special quality time. I pray you will have a most special time with Mr. C! About the picture, might there be a little puppy under the tree this year? :o)

I'd say that there will be a puppy under your tree. Or perhaps Grandma and Grandpa are going to help the kids pick one out when they bring them back.

I am so happy you are getting some well deserved hubby time away from your sweet children. Absense makes the heart grow fonder. And mama and daddy will be all the better for it when they return.

Enjoy! And welcome home.

Welcome back, we missed you! It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your hubby. It's always nice to be spoiled! I'm thinking the picture means you have been decorating and are exhausted. :0)

I'm going with a puppy for the kiddos... but the dog-tired theory sounds good, lol. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

So glad you were able to have a wonderful visit with family, Mrs. C! And, even though we only have one baby right now, I completely understand what you're saying about forgetting to take time to cultivate the marriage relationship. Thanks for the reminder; enjoy the rest of your "second honeymoon" :~)

Would the grandparents be interested in any more kids? :) It would be quite a long drive for us, though.

Glad to "see" you again. Glad to hear about your wonderful time together - sounds almost like you're newlyweds!

Is the dog for you or the kiddos?

I will add you to my link list this week.
