Blogger Friend School~ Assignment 6

Assignment 6~ Precious Past
This week's assignment is to share a piece of your past. Post a baby picture and share a special scripture that reminds you of your past.

This is a picture of me back in 1976. I'm sure that practically every bicentennial baby had their picture taken with an American flag. Thankfully I lost the double chin as I got older. :)

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

I did not grow up with an ideal family situation, but I did grow up with Christian parents and knew that I was loved and that God loved me even more than my parents did. As I grew older I could have made horrible decisions and blamed my actions on my circumstances. I could have become resentful and rebelled against the Lord. Instead, I trusted Him with my life. Many people blame their behavior and poor choices on things they experienced as children, but I believe that we can all be overcomers and live our lives in a way that brings honor and glory to God. I am so blessed!

What a little chub-chub! but oh so cute!

I enjoyed reading your short testimony here. Very biblical too in that you didn't blame your circumstances or use them as a crutch. You were an overcomer!

Hi!
Don't you think the double chin thing was because the way you're sitting? At least I think so! You're still a cutie pie!
Blessings!

I noticed Acts Dispensationally Considered by C. R. Stam on your to read list. We are using Understanding Your Bible by S. Craig MacDonald on Wed. nights and it has totally opened my eyes and just seemed to help make a lot of things make a lot more sense!

I have the same thankful thoughts of my growing up years, with a rough start as you mention in your post.

You will also be interested to know that in 1976, with you as a sweet doublechinned cherub - I was a freshman in college. COLLEGE!

Fun how blogging crosses generations.

You were a cute baby.:) You kind of look like curly girl did when she was a baby.

I think we all have things in our past that is hard to overcome. Thanks for your testimony. It brought alot of encouragment to me today.

Right now, there are some tough spots I am working on from my own past.

Awww, Mrs. C, your double chin is cute! :P Pudgy babies are so much more adorable than the skinny ones, hehehe!

I think we all had less than ideal situations to deal with, the point is what we make of them. Did we become bitter or better? I'd say you went for the latter! :~)

What a cute baby picture! If we lived close enough I could have been your babysitter! I was 16 years old in 1976!

Amen, Mrs. C! Thank you for sharing all of that with us, that bible verse is one that I particularly love because it always brings me such a sense of peace. BTW, I loved your double chin comment, it gave me a good giggle!

You all are so kind! :)

I like what Becky said about blogging crossing the generational lines. Age doesn't seem to matter when it comes to blogging. ;)

Blessings,
Mrs. C
