Never let me take for granted
The beauty of a crimson rose;
Let me ever enjoy the view
Of golden grain as it grows.
Let me enjoy the loveliness
Of a robin on the wing;
And the echoing soun from the steeple
As the church bell gently rings.
Keep me ever midnful
That God sends refreshing rain;
And help me to remember
He'll send the sunshine again.
If I would list the simple things,
I think there'd be no end;
There's encouragement when lonely
And the handclasp of a faithful friend.
There's something very precious
In the things you cannot buy;
For they can be enjoyed by all
If we're not so busy they pass us by.
Yes, give me a life of simple things
My loved one next to my side;
Happy children around my knee
And I'll be satisfied.
