Friday's Favorites~ Hummel Music Box

Today for Show and Tell I'm sharing a gift I received from my great-grandmother when I was a baby. It's a small, round Hummel music box designed to hang on the wall. The picture on the front is entitled "Playtime" and depicts a little boy playing with his two bunny friends.

I remember when I was a little girl how I would pull the string over and over again and listen as "Edelweiss" softly played. I still get goosebumps when I hear the music. Maybe that's one reason The Sound of Music is one of my favorite movies.

We love Edelweiss, too!

My mother used to have a collection of Hummels, but I don't know what happened to them.

What a sweet treasure! I don't think I have ever seen a music box that hangs on the wall -- how neat! And so special that it is from your grandmother to you when you were a baby. Something to treasure always.

What an heirloom. I would definitely treasure that. I've never seen anything like it. I didnt know that Hummel made stuff like that. I guess I just thought the original stuff was all figurines.
