I'm glad to report that everyone around our house is feeling much better. :) We took it easy in the classroom this week by starting our lessons later than usual each morning and relaxing in the afternoons. We still accomplished a lot, so I don't feel bad about us taking the next few days off. We've already completed four weeks of school!

Tomorrow I'll be spending the day packing for our quick trip to Florida. Mr. C prefers to drive at night (no potty stops to make or meals to purchase), so we'll be leaving after the Reformer's Unanimous meeting at our church tomorrow night. It usually takes us about 6 hours to make the drive at night if we're really moving along adhering to the speed limit.

Mr. C will be preaching on Sunday at our home church in Florida where his dad pastors. My in-laws are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this weekend! The church is hosting a huge anniversary party for them after the Sunday evening service. The kids are so excited to be heading "home" for a few days. They've been talking all week about going swimming in Mimi's pool, and they've been working on a special song that they want to sing during the service in honor of their grandparents. We're looking forward to a wonderful weekend. I'll share some pictures when we get back next week.

Today was my first trip into town this week. Bookworm had her piano lesson, and then we stopped by the library to pick up a few books. Bookworm has been living up to her nickname; she's read five books this week, each of which have at least 150 pages. I wonder where she gets it from. :) I grabbed a couple of books to read in the car on our trip so that I don't drive my husband crazy. I get a teensy bit nervous traveling on the interstate with all the big rigs and incapable drivers. I trust Mr. C's driving abitilies completely; it's all the nuts on the road that I'm afraid of.

Tonight I thought it would be nice to just relax a little bit before our busy weekend. I've been in the mood for a Jane Austen movie lately, so I checked out Sense and Sensibility at the library for me and Mr. C to watch tonight. I'm sure he's been dreading it looking forward to it all day. I made a little snack for us to munch on during the movie. Jane Austen and chocolate cookies--it doesn't get much better than this.

Ha, my Butler would eat the cookies and then fall asleep! He is not into Chick Flicks. I hope yours fares better.

Have fun coming to Florida. It is H.O.T. here so make sure that air conditioning is working in your car.

Glad you all are feeling better.
Hope your family has a fun and safe trip. Enjoy your time with all the grandparents.

"See" you when you get back.

I'm so glad you all are feeling better. How wonderful for your in-laws to be celebrating 50 years!
If I tried to read while riding, it would not be good. I have to watch the road, and yes, there are so many crazy drivers out there anymore. On our trip back from Christie's, I was pulling our trailer (Gordon was sick), and it was bumper to bumper traffic all the way home. I practically had to pry my fingers off the steering wheel. LOL!
I pray for safe travel for you all.

I'm sure you enjoyed your movie date with Mr. C (I imagine the chocolate cookies made the movie more enjoyable for him).

50 years! That is not commonly heard of these days; praise the Lord for couples still willing to follow Biblical principles for marriage!

Praying for a safe trip, and I can't wait to see pics of your weekend!

My husband LOVES Pride and Prejudice. I picked it up one day, and I thought, "Oh no, he isn't going for this one."

He LOVED it. Since then, he has watched most of the Jane Austin movies, and Pride and Prejudice about a gazillion times.

So who knows, Mr. C. Just might suprise you. :)

Funny thing is, I sometimes even enjoy the more "manly" movies my husband chooses. As long as they're historical of course. :)

I'm the same way! I wish I could read in the car but it makes me sick to my stomach when I do. )o:

Have fun!

Oh man, I want to come over and watch with you! I'm a huge Jane Austen fan! I just saw Becoming Jane over the weekend which was loosely based on her life. It wasn't totally accurate but I enjoyed it just because it was about her!

Mr. C actually survived Sense & Sensibility. He enjoyed Pride & Prejudice much more. :)

Mrs. U,
I'll post the cookie recipe soon!

Blessings,
Mrs. C
