Our Newest Addition

I think my last post was a little misleading. Just a wee bit. Several of you guessed that my big news has something to do with a baby. Well, it does. :)

Today for Kelli's Show and Tell I wanted to introduce you to the newest member of our family.

This is Sassy. She's an adorable 9-week-old Manx. We had to wait until after our vacation to bring her home with us. We've had her almost 24 hours, and so far she and the litter box are getting along just fine.

The kids can't keep their hands off of Sassy, but she doesn't seem to mind. The only problem is that she doesn't seem to care for our dog at all. She makes the most ferocious hissing noises at Buddy everytime she sees him. I guess they'll get used to each other eventually.

If you've got any tips on how we can help Sassy adjust to her new home, please feel free to share. :)

Congratulations on your new "baby". And, yes, little kittys and puppies are definately babies to me. You just want to squeeze them so tight and kiss them to death:) Can you tell I dose of baby animal?

oooooohhhh, she's adorable!!!
We can't have a kitty in the house, we have a child that is highly allergic.
I know you will enjoy her!

Awww, she IS a baby - just a baby cat! She is adorable, and I thought it was hilarious that she is only 9 weeks old and already hissing ferociously at the dog! ;) Some things are just built in, I guess.

How sweet. I just love pets and especially kittys.

Give them time and I bet the dog and cat will either get along or ignore each other.

Glad you are back.

Oh how sweet, she's ADORABLE!!

A big factor in the two getting along is it is imperative that the dog notbe allowed to chase her.

And as one of your readers said, the cat will eventually get used to the dog.

And if you need to discipline the kitty for climbing furniture (or people!) I've found that a squirt bottle filled with water works GREAT! Just make sure the children don't spray her with it just for fun. (o; It's for naughtiness only.

Blessings,

Awwww..what a sweet new baby you have! When we first got Fern we kept her in Phillip's office and would go in to visit her until she wasn't so overwhelmed with the entire house.

She was about 1 year old when my mom came for a visit with her dog. Fern refused to come out of the bathroom so we moved her food, water and litter in there. She finally came out after 13!!! days! LOL I hope Sassy has an easier time! She sure is pretty!

Awwww, Mrs. C, she is just lovely! I'm sure she is sweet and doesn't live up to her name at all, LOL! As everyone else has said, it will just take some time, but I'm positive that your fur-babies will learn to love each other soon enough. :)

I've missed reading what's going on with you and your family, but I am glad to be back online again! I guess I have quite a bit of catching up to do!!!

Awwww!! Every time I turn around I'm seeing kitties. I want a kitty so bad!! We used to have all kinds of them running around at our old house but here we can't have them so we don't. But we all want another one...except for my hubby!! Sassy is adorable. She will adjust in time. It might take her a few days but she and the dog will be just fine. They will be the best of friends...you wait and see. Have fun with her!!
