Wednesday's Zone Task~ In the Dining Room

Wednesday's challenge was to wipe down the walls and clean the windows in the dining room. Before washing the baseboards I brushed them off with a small broom to remove the doggy hair and dust that seems to accumulate so quickly. I moved the baker's rack away from the wall so that I could really dust behind it. This is the first home I have ever lived in that has double-hung windows, so I was able to clean the outside part of the windows from the inside--how nice! In Florida we had Miami windows, which were just one step up from jalousie windows, and they were near impossible to clean! Today's task took about 30 minutes. I'll post some pictures from the dining room at the end of the week. http://riverbendramblings.blogspot.com

Can't wait to see pics! Question: do you do your zones one per day instead of one per week? I used to do a zone per week, and I would ignore it the rest of the month. So I started doing one room or area per day. I need to get my monthly jobs divided up by weeks, but I really like touching each room in my house during the week.

Susan,
I usually focus on one zone each week, but I also do little things throughout the house without even thinking about it each day. For instance, this week is Zone 1, which is the Entry, Front Porch, and Dining Room, so I am dividing my zone cleaning time among these areas. However, with 4 children under the age of 8, I am constantly working on other projects around the house. If I stick with my morning, afternoon, and evening routines, as well as my weekly "House Blessings" (dusting, etc.), things stay pretty caught up. By the way, I have really enjoyed reading your blog. It is one of the few that I check each day! It's a blessing to know their are ladies of like faith out there!
Blessings,
Mrs. C

Thanks for your answer, Mrs. C! I forgot that the dining room, entry, and front porch all went together. I had 3 children under 5 at one time (why does that sound soo much worse than 3 under 18? LOL) so I know how busy it gets. My sister has 7 children - she's my hero! ;) Thanks so much for your sweet words about my blog. I'm very thankful that there are more and more ladies out there of like faith!
