My New Toys

I've been using Clinique ever since I started wearing makeup as a teenager. Lately I just haven't felt like my makeup is doing the trick anymore. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I turned 30 a few months ago??? I'm not one to fuss a whole lot with my makeup, but I do feel that if the barn needs a little paint, then paint it! Seriously, even though I'm at home most of the day with my sweet blessings, I do think that it is important to look my best when Mr. C pops in during the day. After doing a bit of research, I decided that I would try Bare Minerals. The company offers a money-back guarantee, so what do I have to lose? (My sanity, perhaps.) My much-anticipated box arrived in the mail a few days ago. I felt like a little girl on Christmas morning when I opened it up and saw all of the goodies inside. I have always wanted a nice set of makeup brushes, and this set has every brush known to mankind! I watched the instructional DVD and had a little makeup party with myself one evening after the kiddos went to bed. It will probably take a few days to get the application technique down, but it is not that complicated. Yesterday I decided to put Bare Minerals to the hurry-or-we'll-be-late, get-the-kids-dressed, get-a-head-start-on-lunch, teach-Sunday-school, be-back-to-church-at-night, busy-busy-busy-day test. On Sunday morning, I scheduled a little more time into my morning routine to apply my makeup, but it didn't take much longer than when using my previous makeup. I usually do not wear eyeliner, but the Bare Minerals eye liner powder was so easy to apply after mixing it with a bit of water. Despite a busy day and warm temperatures, my makeup was still looking pretty fresh 10 hours after applied. I didn't even have a shiny nose! I did a quick touch-up before heading back to church last night. So far I am really enjoying Bare Minerals as it assists me in looking my best. http://riverbendramblings.blogspot.com

I'm going to have to look into Bear Minerals! My skin is always blotchy after 1-2 hours!

I love BM too! I don't have as nice of a kit as you do though. (o:

mrs.r & mrs.b.,

I purchased the largest kit because it was the best value for the money, and I also thought that the products might work better when used together. I cringed slightly at the amount spent, but it was significantly less money than what it would cost to purchase a complete "department store" line. This kit came with everything I needed except the lip colors. I plan on using the lipsticks and glosses I already have. If anyone has tried the lip colors, let me know!

Susan,
I have been so pleased! Bare Minerals really evens out my skin tone, yet it still looks so natural. I believe that God gives us all a natural beauty; therefore, I don't wish to look like I have a heavy mask of makeup on.

There is a starter kit that is smaller than the kit pictured if you are interested in trying it. I checked eBay, but I could not find any large kits or any good deals on small one in my colors. There are some sellers that are trying to copy Bare Minerals, so really read the fine print!

Blessings,
Mrs. C

Ooooh!!! Now I am EXCITED!! I LOVE Bare Minerals!!! My sister got me started using it 2 years ago and I have not regretted it at all!! It takes me forever to use any of the products and I love that I get my money's worth out of it.

You can order Bare Minerals from qvc.com, go to the Sephora store, go to Ulta 3 (or Ulta) stores, or, if you are lucky enough to have one near you, you can go to the Bare Essentials store!! OH MY!!!! What a fun girls day out!!

Anyway, I LOVED the post and couldn't help but comment on a MUCH loved product!! :)

His,
Mrs. U
