As I mentioned in a previous post, I am diligently working on maintaining the zones in my home during the month of July. I began on Monday by focusing on the front porch. We have been experiencing a drought lately, so most of my front porch plants have withered away. I began my decluttering by removing the hanging baskets and their dead occupants. I used a broom to brush down all of the dust and cobwebs that had accumulated. I decided not to hang any new plants until later in the summer when it's not so hot and dry. I hung a windchime my mother had given me on one of the hooks. I pruned back a vine that has a tendency to wrap its little tendrils around the rocking chairs. Next, I thoroughly swept off the walls, rocking chairs, and deck. My final touch was to wipe down the front door. My front porch is now dust-free and inviting once again. Now if it would only cool off a bit so that we can enjoy it!
